Our Commitment

We are students from different parts of the African continent studying at the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa. We are proud of the bond of strong love which binds us as a big family with big dreams. Through our efforts to build a community based on diversity, equity, and fairness, we believe that we can make the world a better place.

This is one of the things we do best

We are proud to have won different competitions organized and participated in by African Students Association, including volleyball and soccer.

Culverhouse School of Accountancy, UA

Settling in an entirely new environment is not always smooth and that was my expectation coming to UA. However, ASA made it seamless for me. From airport pick-up to finding and furnishing my apartment, the team was very obliging.

ASA has been a home away from home for me and many others regardless of what part of Africa we hail from. From smooth airport pickup to settling us in comfortably, ASA has created a sense of belonging and love for me and my family. In French I say “Chapeau bas” to the Great ASA.

Since August 2021, I’ve been a member of ASA and I have acquired tremendous academic, social, and financial literacy through the association. As African students, we have formed such warm bonds here that I can call it my home away from home. It has been a great experience working with the ASA and I highly recommend it to others.

My ASA experience started from the moment I knew I was coming to UA. ASA guided my search for accommodation, picked me from the airport and gave me the opportunity to build friendship which I hope to enjoy for the rest of my life.

Thank you ASA
