About us

The African Students Association, The University of Alabama Chapter, aims to unite, bring cultural awareness, and seek the advancement of students of African descent or all persons interested in learning about Africa. Furthermore,
we seek to increase our knowledge of the various cultures and heritage of the peoples of Africa and support and encourage one another as we pursue our studies at the University of Alabama.

 

Our objectives are to:

bring together and foster fraternal relationships among all students of African descent/those who wish to identify with the continent of Africa regardless of race, ethnicity, or religion.

promote a greater understanding of African cultures and traditions.

 

encourage and support student involvement in all UA (University of Alabama) campus activities.

aid and welcome all incoming African students.

work closely with other student organizations, staff, and faculty of the University of Alabama to promote scholarship, fellowship, and service.
