ASA UMOJA DRIVE DONATION
In partnership with Goodwill & Temporary Emergency Services, the African Students Association, UA, organized a donation drive in a bid to serve the community. Umoja in Swahili means “unity”, rooted in the spirit of Ubuntu – “I am because we are.” The main priority for this drive is to build a strong community engagement and make a meaningful difference together.
ASA UNITY SPORTS DAY
On Saturday the 6th of June 2026, the African Students Association, University of Alabama, organized a friendly watch with the African Students Association, University of Alabama Birmingham at the UA Recreational Center Football Pitch. This was organized in a bid to strengthen cohesion between ASA Tuscaloosa and other ASA branches for greater impact within the African International students community in Alabama. Although, the game saw ASA UA win with 5 goals to nil, there was no winner or loser, but rather an avenue for African students to come together and share the joy of community through a soccer game.
A special thanks to the E-board, players and everyone who came out to support. It was great seeing students from both institutions come together. Much fun was had on and off the field.
